So siegte Großdeutschland (This is How Greater Germany Won) by Martin Bochow is a 1940 hardcover Nazi photo book showing the German population the historic victory of Wehrmacht forces in Poland. The photos show the effectiveness and speed with which the German Armed Forces attacked and forced the surrender of Poland in September 1939.
The 7-½ x 10-¼ inch hardcover Third Reich book has 35 pages of text with maps and 110 pages of fine full-page black & white photos of Nazi tanks on the move in Poland, soldiers on bicycles and on horseback, destroyed bridges and war damage in Polish towns and cities, Generaloberst von Brauchitsch with his troops, the SS-Heimwehr in action in Danzig, Hitler in Danzig with Gauleiter Forster, Generalfeldmarschall Hermann Goering inspecting a captured Polish Air Force airplane, Luftwaffe bombers in action, massacred ethnic Germans in Poland (photo below), anti-German Polish propaganda encountered by Wehrmacht troops, Polish Jews, ethnic Germans in uniform marching through Danzig with swastika flags, Polish POWs and captured Polish artillery, etc. So siegte Großdeutschland ends with the German victory parade in Warsaw on 1 October 1939, attended by Adolf Hitler, many of his generals and marching troops.
The last page of the book has the Index of the agencies that were responsible for the photographs So siegte Großdeutschland including Heinrich Hoffmann, Volk und Reich Verlag, Scherl-Bilderdienst, Weltbild Berlin, Atlantic Berlin, Associated Press and others.
So siegte Großdeutschland was published by Büchergilde Gutenberg of Berlin in 1940. This First Edition is in nice used condition with minor shelf wear to the cover and has no unpleasant odor.
