This is an original World War II German hardcover book with excellent photos and excerpts from war diaries of men who fought on the west front in 1940. Die Roten Teufel sind die Hölle! (The Red Devils are Hell!) by Gerhard Starcke was published by Buchergilde Gutenberg in Berlin in 1941.
The 6-¾ x 9-¼ inch hardcover Third Reich book has 176 pages with stories and unusual photos of the German Wehrmacht during their victorious invasion of Belgium and France in 1940: blowing up bridges over the Maas river, Dieppe, Nazi tank attacks, Panzer crews, Wehrmacht motorized troops, medical personnel treating wounded soldiers, damaged bunkers, Iron Cross recipients, French POWs and dead French soldiers, destroyed French airplanes, cavalry, mines, the victory parade in Paris, etc.
The book also has a photos of World War I cemeteries in northern France as well as Compiègne where the Armistice was signed in 1918.
This original Third Reich example of Die Roten Teufel sind die Hölle! is complete and in good, well-used condition.
