This is a very good example of the hard to find 6 x 8-1/2 inch, 240-page, heavily illustrated hard cover book Helden der Wüste (Heroes of the Desert) by Hanns Gert Freiherr von Esebeck as published by Verlag die Heimbücherei in Berlin in 1943.
With over 40 full-page black & white photos and 35 full-page full-color Afrikakorps photos, this wonderful Third Reich book does a better job of explaining and showing Nazi Feldmarschall Erwin Rommel and his Deutsche Afrikakorps (DAK) than anything else of the period.
There are lots of photos of German tanks of course, as well as the famous Nazi Field Marshal, British Prisoners of War, the German’s Italian Allies, German Graves, Life in the Field, Motorcycles with and without Sidecars, Panzer, German Aircraft, Roman Ruins in the Desert, etc., etc.
A great text follows and introduction by Generalfeldmarschall Rommel himself.
This 77 year old example of Helden der Wüste is in very good, tight condition. Some wear to the cover, no odor, no writing.
