FTH: above, a Nazi Abzeichen made for the Frankentag rally in Hesselberg in 1938. It is a finely designed pin with the talons of the Nazi eagle clutching the Hessel Mountain which is located about 40 miles southwest of Nürnberg. During the Third Reich it was renamed the Heiliger Berg der Franken (Holy Mountain of the Franks) and many Nazi rallies were held there, several attended by Adolf Hitler, Hermann Göring and anti-Jewish Nazi Frankenführer Julius Streicher. The last Frankentag was held there in 1939. This aluminum Nazi Party Day badge is maker marked C. BALMBERGER NÜRNBERG and still has its original Third Reich horizontal pin on the back. It is 48 mm tall, about 30 mm at its widest point and weighs about 5 ounces. Original patina, never cleaned. Condition exactly as shown. |
