This is a 100% original Third Reich patent, number 686672 issued on 13 January 1940 by the Deutsches Reich Reichspatentamt, the Nazi Patent Office in Berlin. The 7-¼ x 10-¾ inches 6-panel (folds out to 21 inches) was issued to Richard Raupach Maschinenfabrik Görlitz GmbH and was for a horizontal extruding press for kneadable clay. The machine is explained in the text and shown in an illustration as well.
The Richard Raupach Maschinenfabrik was founded by Richard Raupach in 1878 in the German city of Görlitz (on the far east German border with Poland) and produced steam engines in the factory in Görlitz and Warnsdorf (Bohemia). The Soviet Army took over the factory in Görlitz on 1 May 1945, and the 180 employees were forced to clear the factory. The two Raupach brothers who had assumed control of the business from their father after his death in a car crash in 1921, were arrested. They died later in Soviet captivity.
Printed by the Reichsdrückerei in Berlin, this 80+ year old Nazi Patentschift is in very nice, little-used condition with a library stamp in the upper right corner of the front panel, exactly as shown.
