ORIGINAL RECEIPT FOR FINAL BERLIN GAS BILL
JULY 1944

Above is a rare receipt dated 14 July 1944 issued by BEWAG (Berliner Kraft- und Licht AG) or Berlin Power and Light Company to Franz Dorr after he paid his final bill of Reichsmarks 8.80 for electricity used on the third floor at Würzburgerstrasse 9, a few blocks south of the well-known Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. In the fall and winter 1944/45 gas was unavailable in most of Berlin.

It measures 4 x 8-¼ inches, condition exactly as shown.
