Most people familiar with the Third Reich period know of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler and his passion for genealogy, heredity and all aspects of the historical racial make-up of the German people. The interest of Hitler and Himmler was the driving force behind the flourishing genealogy societies and genealogical research in Nazi Germany.

After 1933 it became very fashionable in Nazi Germany to do the research to complete a four generation Ahnenpaß or Ancestry Document, the minimum requirement for entry into the SS or Waffen-SS.

This is a softcover 48-page, 5-1/4 x 8-1/8 inch Ahnenpass with a greenish softcover, published by the Reichsverband der Standesbeamten Deutschland (German State Association of [Marriage] Registrars) and printed in Berlin. It was filled out by Johann Pischinger who was born on 14 August 1899 in Waidhofen an der Thaya, just south of the Czech border near Budweiser. He carefully recorded the date and place of the birth of his parents Franz Pischinger and Johanna Pischinger, née Macho. Johann Pischinger married Maria Anna Kniebeck on 31 October 1922.

There are also written entries for Johann Pischinger's grandparents and great-grandparents on is father's and mother's side of the family. Other families connected through this genealogy include Kniebeck, Parod, and several we can not decipher.

All entries are accompanied by the official round eagle and swastika stamp of the Standesbeamter of Tulln, the town where Pischinger lived when he filled out this Ahnenpass. The stamps of the Standesbeamter confirmed that the entries were certified as correct.

The entries in this original Third Reich Ahnenpass date back as far as 1838! Very good used condition.
