The 5 x 7-1/2 inch hardcover book we offer on this USMBOOKS web page bears the title Der grossdeutsche Freiheitskampf - Reden Adolf Hitlers (The Greater German Freedom Struggle - Adolf Hitler Speeches) published on orders of Reichsleiter Philipp Bouhler by the Zentralverlag der NSDAP Franz Eher Nachfolger, the Central Publishing House of the Nazi Party in Munich in 1942. It is Band III, or Volume 3 in this series.

The 276 pages contain speeches delivered by Hitler between 16 March 1941 and 15 March 1942. The book includes speeches Hitler gave to Wehrmacht soldiers and Waffen-SS men serving at the front, to Parliament, at WHW charity rallies, etc. There are several “Orders of the Day”, including the one announcing the death of Field Marshal Walter von Reichenau. The 8 November 1941 speech to the Alte Garde on the eve of the Putsch anniversary in Munich is included as is Adolf Hitler’s speech at the funeral of Reichsminister Dr.-Ing. Fritz Todt.

This is an original hardcover First Edition of Der grossdeutsche Freiheitskampf - Reden Adolf Hitlers with its original color dust jacket. It is fully indexed and is complete with a Zeittafel, a chronological time table of important events that took place between March 1941 and March 1942 such as Hitler’s meetings with Japanese Foreign Minister Matsuoka, Turkish Foreign Minister Saracoglu, and Hungarian Foreign Minister Bardossy, Wehrmacht troops entering Greece followed by quick victory in Greece, the front in North Africa, acknowledgement of the independence of Croatia by Hitler and Mussolini, the arrival of British troops in Iraq, trade agreements, the sinking of the HMS Hood, the costly battle for Crete, the Hitler-Mussolini meeting at the Brenner Pass, the start of Operation Barbarossa - the German invasion of the Soviet Union, the announcement that Jews were officially obligated to wear a yellow Star of David on their clothing in public, Reichsmarschall Hermann Goering’s meeting with French Marshal Pétain, Japanese “Declaration of War” to the USA and England, the sinking of the English battleships the Prince of Wales and Repulse by the Japanese Air Force at Singapore, the FDR-Churchill meeting in Washington DC, Erwin Rommel receives the Oak Leaves and Swords addition to his Knight’s Cross, Japanese victories in the Pacific, etc., etc.

This example of Der grossdeutsche Freiheitskampf - Reden Adolf Hitlers Band III has a special dedication page tipped-in before the title page. The text is handwritten and signed in ink and commemorates cooperation at the office of the Oberfinanzpräsident of the city of Leipzig and is dated 30 January 1943.

This 80 year old Nazi book comes with its original color dust jacket. The book itself has gold blocking on the front cover as well as on the dark blue linen spine. It has no offensive odor and it looks like the book was read only once or twice. It has a tight spine and is in very good condition.
