Prisoners at all Nazi concentration camps in German territory were allowed to send and receive mail on a limited basis. The mail inmates sent out from a Konzentrationslager was sent on special preprinted stationary and was always censored by the Postzensurstelle to make sure that the prisoner did not complain or provide outsiders with sensitive information about concentration camp industries, security or conditions in general. Examples of all such mail are very rare today.
This is an absolutely genuine 4-panel piece of Auschwitz Concentration Camp stationary with a letter from and mailed by an Auschwitz inmate.
On 18 June 1944, Stefan Frohle, prisoner number 684 of Block 22, wrote this letter in German to his mother Elisabeth in Neu-Sandez on Konzentrationslager Auschwitz inmate stationary. Neu-Sandez was a town with a large Jewish Ghetto and Nazi labor camp in the Generalgouvernement, seat of Kreis Neu-Sandez in Distrikt Krakau. Today it is Nowy Sacz in Poland.

Schutzhäftling Stefan Frohle starts his letter with "Dearest Mommy" and confirms receipt of the last two letters. He writes it makes him happy knowing his mother is living somewhat nearby during these difficult times, that he is healthy and that he remains optimistic. He wishes he could write more, but that he has nothing new to report.
There is a stamp from the number 4 censor at Auschwitz next to Frohle's sign-off at the bottom of his letter. While most English speakers use the abbreviation KZ for Nazi concentration camps, Germans use K.L. for Konzentrationslager.
The original red Adolf Hitler postage stamp has a round AUSCHWITZ (OBERSCHLESIEN) cancelation dated 28 June 1944. Very good used condition and 100% original to the Third Reich in Nazi Germany.
