The Army Talks magazines in this lot are dated 17 July 1945 (16 pages), 7 October 1945 (32 pages) and 11 November 1945 (48 pages) and were archived by a US Army Captain who was occupying part of the City of Nazi Party Days, Nürnberg in 1946

This lot contains THREE rare historical original immediate-postwar American magazines published for US Army personnel in Europe as World War II ended. The heavily illustrated 8 x 10-¼ inch English language Army Talks magazines were published weekly by Information and Education Division TSFET, APO 757 to provide “Facts Behind The News”.

Subjects covered in the 96 pages of these three Army Talks magazines are military strategy, the defeat of the Nazi Kriegsmarine, the merger of foreign supply, procurement and other economic operations into the Foreign Economic Administration (FEA), supplying the USSR during World War II, the role of the USAAF before, during and after D-Day in Normandy, a GI Primer on International Trade (how the IMF would work), the aftermath of victory, black market, atomic power in peace time, Japanese military errors, background information on the country of Japan and Japanese culture, Japanese Industry (“the Japanese are the best copyists”), the Chinese Constitution, World War I German war criminals, Human Guinea Pigs - murder for science in Nazi Germany, the Nazi concentration camp at Mauthausen, Nazi Arch-Criminals to be Tried at Nuremberg, .......

..... the ten worst Nazi concentration camps, the masterminds behind the Nazi German economy, the Wehrmacht dependence on I.G. Farben production (synthetic rubber, poisonous gases, nickel, nitrogen, gun powder, synthetic gasoline, cellophane, color film, insecticides, pharmaceuticals, etc.), the decline and fall of German industry, and there is even an article by Chiang Kai-Shek called “China’s Plan for World Peace”.

All three rare 77 year old English language magazines are complete and in used condition with no writing and they have no offensive odor.
